Our first private label!!!
We are beyond stoked to be working with Bethany of Color Collector to bring you one of our favorites grape varieties: Trousseau. Think a beautiful child of Pinot Noir and Syrah. This has been in the works for over a year, and after finally tasting it in barrel again in May we decided it was time to bottle!
Biodynamically farmed in the foothills of Mt. Hood, this Trousseau offers a palate of crushed strawberry and little bit of crushed thyme. It finishes with minerality that might remind you of Syrah. I adore this wine, and this is the first of several projects we are working on under the Crowfriend label.
Pairing: Just drink it!

Granbazán

Rías Baixas, Spain
Who says Albariño isn’t a serious wine? Not me!
Long considered one of the benchmark wineries of the entire Rías Baixas appellation, Granbazán farms 17 hectares of Albariño vines in Val do Salnés, the sub-region of the Rías Baixas which is centered around the town of Cambados. Val do Salnés is the site of the oldest Albariño plantings. It is also the coldest and wettest of the five sub-regions. Grapes are trained in the traditional pergola fashion which allows for the evening breeze to keep the vines dry.
These wines belong on the same table as great white Burgundy or the best dry German Rieslings; they are truly one of the great wines of the world.
Pairing: Harissa Shrimp With Greens and Feta
Fun fact: Rías Baixas gets almost twice the rain as Tacoma in a year.
Foradori

Considered by most to be the most important biodynamic producer in Northern Italy, Foradori has completely changed the perception of what a natural wine can be. These are wines that make you feel the terroir like no other. I genuinely love this producer.
Nestled in the Alpine foothills of Trentino, Foradori is the master of Teroldego, the region’s most important native red grape. Elisabetta Foradori, who took over the family estate in 1984 at just 20 years old, has transformed Teroldego from an overlooked local variety into one of Italy’s most important red wines. One of the pioneers of biodynamic wines, low-intervention winemaking, and aging in amphorae, Foradori was able to give Teroldego a new identity.
Pairing: Sheet-Pan Mushroom Parmigiana
Fun fact: Elisabetta finally made her dream purchase of eight heifers, and started making cheese last year.
